Car-free Seoul

I’ve seen these on several other popular shopping and hang-out streets:

Daemyeong is a car-free street
Daemyeong Street is a car-free street, Sat. 3pm-10pm, Sun. midday-10pm
Marronnier is a car-free street

Marronnier is a car-free street, Sunday 10am-10pm

So easy. Some official wheels them in on their castors to block off the street entrance at the designated time and, voila, instant safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

There are some permanent signs too of course:

Insadong is a car-free street
No entry into Insadong Street, Sat. 2pm-10pm, Sun. 10am-10pm

except emergency vehicles
